A CMA Managing Director served as first Chief  Financial Officer for the Company and supported the school during a two-year audit of Title IV compliance by the Office of Inspector General of the Department of Education (OIG). The audit concluded with a successful renewal of the school’s Program Participation Agreement (PPA) under Title IV.

Engagement Highlights

  • Established the University’s first Financial Aid Department after acquisition by a private equity firm and separation from founding non-profit parent, Touro University (New York).
  • Recruited and trained Financial Aid staff of 20 professionals growing student Title IV population to over 1,800 students and managing over $18M per year in awards within 20 months.
  • Developed all training and procedures to ensure compliance to DOE regulations under the Higher Education Act, reducing compliance findings dramatically.
  • Appointed official Liaison to the Office of Inspector General Department of Education and supported the school during a two-year audit of Title IV compliance by the (OIG). The OIG audit concluded with a successful renewal of the school’s Program Participation Agreement (PPA) under Title IV.
  • Satisfactorily and timely negotiated and completed required Attest Audits and 100% File Audits of student populations required by OIG Corrective Action Plan submitted to Region IX of the Department of Education (San Francisco).
  • Managed all other accounting and financial functions of this WASC accredited university delivering over 60,000 courses per year to over 12,000 members of America’s armed forces at over 300 locations in the United States and throughout the world.
  • Achieved EBITDA margins of over 30% of Revenue.
