Mr. Ryan’s career includes 20 years working with businesses that make, buy, machine, fabricate or otherwise process ferrous and non-ferrous metals. In addition to running a successful specialty metals manufacturing business as a principal and operating executive, he has utilized his entrepreneurial skills to lead turnaround efforts, integrate acquisitions and drive business process improvement initiatives across a diverse array of companies.
Mr. Ryan has worked with a variety of businesses ranging in size from start-up to $2.6 billion, both public and private, leading teams and working on engagements in the power generation, defense, oil & gas, transportation, construction and medical device sectors. His representative experience has included a leading OEM of large power transmission equipment, a contract machining business of hip and knee joints, a casting and machining business in the power generation and defense space and a variety of casting, forging, tooling and value-added processors in the metals space.
Mr. Ryan’s advisory experience encompasses representation of debtors and creditors and has included roles as CRO and lender advisor performing business plan assessments, operational and financial restructuring planning and turnaround management. He has held positions including CRO, CEO, VP and CFO as well as VP and GM of a manufacturing business of engineered specialty metal components for applications in defense and power generation. Mr. Ryan also worked for seven years with Arthur Andersen LLP and has held a variety of finance positions in the industry.
Mr. Ryan holds a BS in Accounting from the Pennsylvania State University. He is a Certified Public Accountant and is ASQ Certified in Six Sigma and Root Cause Analysis.
