Mr. Dorff has more than 35 years of experience in higher education and business entrepreneurship. He has held faculty appointments and administrative leadership positions at five universities, including Chair of the Faculty and leading reaccreditation efforts at all levels (department, college, and university).

As Dean of the largest college (Humanities and Social Sciences) at Kennesaw State University, he played a vital role in leading faculty, staff, and students through one of the largest and most complex consolidations in US Higher Education. Most recently, Mr. Dorff served as Provost/Vice President for Academic Affairs at Plymouth State University responsible for designing and leading implementation strategy for the Integrated Cluster Initiative, a transformative innovation of university curriculum, organization, and culture.

A student, teacher, and practitioner of strategy and strategic leadership, he was the first civilian selected as Chair of a core teaching department (National Security and Strategy) at the US Army War College where he also helped lead the department, the institution, and all personnel through the tragic impact of 9/11 and the complex responses and adjustments to it. Mr. Dorff has worked with and advised senior military, business, and political leaders from around the world. His positions in higher education include Carnegie-classified Regional Comprehensive, R-2, and R-1 institutions and working closely with public and private not-for-profit colleges and universities. He has in-depth experience and knowledge of accreditation processes, policies, commissions (SACSCOC, MSCHE, NECHE), union and non-union settings, and with designing and implementing complex and difficult institutional and organizational cultural change.

In business Mr. Dorff co-founded and led three companies in real estate development, construction, and investment, working with both US and international investors and partners. He served as Executive Director of a 501(c)(3) preparing future candidates and political leaders from both major and other minor parties for over 6 years, completing a strategic, financial, and operational reorganization while engaging with the community, state, and national leadership to build partnerships and collaborations.

The many organizations and companies for which Mr. Dorff has consulted, advised and collaborated include International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP), Creative Associates International, Africa Center for Strategic Studies, National Association of Manufacturers, American Standard, Proctor & Gamble, Perot Systems, and US Departments of Defense, State and Homeland Security.

Mr. Dorff earned a BA in Political Science from Colorado College and an MA and Ph.D. from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill.
