Mr. Black focuses on advising company owners, management teams, lenders, and private equity groups on complex bankruptcies, restructurings, refinancing, and M&A transactions. His experience includes both in-and out-of-court financial restructurings, mergers & acquisitions, refinancing, Section 363 sales, and valuation. He is a skilled professional with demonstrated success in both Chapter 11 restructurings and mergers & acquisitions across various sectors, including consumer products, food & grocery, healthcare, insurance, media & telecom, energy, and retail. 

Prior to joining Carl Marks Advisors, Mr. Black supported corporate bankruptcies and restructurings at Alvarez & Marsal in Dallas, Texas.

Mr. Black graduated magna cum laude with a BBA in Finance from the Jones College of Business at Middle Tennessee State University and is a FINRA Registered Representative.
